INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Senior Nolan Churchman capped off an outstanding performance at the NCAA Indoor Championships on Friday (March 14), securing his seventh career All-American honor with a third-place finish in the men's heptathlon. Churchman set a new school record with a total of 5,534 points over the two-day competition, highlighted by a personal-best mark in the pole vault.

Entering the second day in third place with 3,135 points, Churchman continued to showcase his consistency across the final three events. He opened with an 8.67-second performance in the 60-meter hurdles, earning 820 points. In the pole vault, he cleared a personal-best height of 15-7.00, adding 834 points to his total and finishing first in the event. Churchman then closed out the competition with a time of 2:52.02 in the 1,000-meter run, collecting 745 points to solidify his podium finish.

Churchman's record-breaking performance extends his legacy as one of the most decorated athletes in Fort Hays State track and field history. Not only did he secure his seventh All-American honor, but he also broke his own school record in the heptathlon, further cementing his place among the elite multi-event competitors in Division II.

Churchman also competed in the men's long jump, where he finished 18th overall with a mark of 22-4.50.

The NCAA Indoor Championships conclude tomorrow (March 15), with Jacob Clark competing in the men's pole vault. Clark is looking for his sixth All-American mark.
