Kenneth W. Ford, age 83, died Thursday, March 7, 2024, at the Morton County Hospital in Elkhart, Kansas. He was born January 1, 1941, in Elkhart, the son of Cecil and Ethelyn (Ketchum) Ford.
Kenneth grew up in Morton County and graduated from Yarbrough High School. He then furthered his education at the OSU Institute of Technology. Kenneth married Phyllis Ford (Largent) on September 24, 1957, in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. Throughout his life, Kenneth was a farmer that also worked for Panhandle Eastern Pipeline, Scott Power & Equipment Inc, as well as owned and operated both Ford Lawn Care Company and Kenny’s Daylight Donut Shop. He was a member and deacon of the First Baptist Church and served as treasurer for over 25 years.
Kenneth is survived by his wife, Phyllis of their home; daughter, Lana Hicks of Elkhart; daughter-in-law Bernita Ford of Rogers, Arkansas; six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Ethelyn Ford; son, Lendell Ford; son-in-law, Sergeant First Class Bryan Hicks; brother, James “Jimmy” Ford; and sister, Teresa Askran.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, March 16, 2024, at 10:00 AM at the First Baptist Church in Elkhart with Pastor Ed Richards officiating. Interment will follow at the Elkhart Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, March 15, 2024, from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Garnand Funeral Home in Elkhart.
