Juanita Campbell, age 86 of Hays, Kansas passed away Thursday March 26, 2026 at HaysMed. She was born May 23, 1939 in Greeley, Colorado to Guadalupe Lucero Apodaca and Elisa Garcia. On May 17, 1968 she married Winston Lee Campbell in Carson City, Nevada. Juanita became the mother to Winston’s children, Deborah, Joseph, Diana, Bryan and Casey and later they had their daughter, Jenny.
Juanita had worked in hotel management while living in California until she moved to Hays in 1996. While in Hays she worked at JC Penny, and Walgreens until her retirement. Juanita loved her role as a mother and grandmother. She loved to Bake and explore culinary arts. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. J
Juanita is survived by her daughter, Jenny Lee Linenberger and husband Stan and their daughters, Holly and Sophia all of Hays; and her sisters, Diana (Len) Newton of Bandera, Texas, Mary Apodaca of Greeley, Colorado, , Helen Lopez of Livermore, California and Victoria (Curtis) Lindenman of Tucson, Arizona as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Guadalupe and Elisa; her husband, Winston; and step children, Deborah Marie, Joseph Winston and Bryan Scott.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church with Fr. Nick Parker officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Joseph's Cemetery, Hays.
Visitation will be Tuesday 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM with a combined parish vigil and rosary service at 7:00 PM and Wednesday 9:00 AM - 9:30 AM all at Keithley Funeral Homes and Crematory - Brock's Chapel 2509 Vine Hays, KS 67601.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the wishes of the family to be determined at a later date made payable to her daughter, Jenny Linenberger.
