Ann Marie Tournear, 43, passed away on October 15, 2022, at Via 
Christi St. Francis, Wichita, Kan. She was born on January 23, 1979, to 
Anthony and Zoella Wohletz in Kingman, Kan. On December 10, 2004, she 
married Greg Tournear at Columbia, Mo. He survives.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

Ann was an active member of H.O.G. (Harley Owner Group) and the NHRA.
 She liked being on her phone and loved spending time riding her Harley.

Survivors include her husband, Greg of the home; her father, Anthony 
Wohletz; a son, Jessie Wohletz; a daughter, Jasmine Wohletz; two 
stepsons, Gregory Tournear and Triton Tournear; and six grandchildren. 
She is preceded in death by her mother Zoella; and a sister, Karyeen.

Visitation will take place from Noon to 8:00 p.m., Friday, October 
28, 2022, at Bryant Funeral Home, with family to receive friends from 
5:00 to 7:00 p.m. There will be no services at this time. 

Memorials have
 been designated to the Ann Tournear Expense Fund, in care of Bryant 
Funeral Home.

Janet A. Ferrell, age 83, passed away on 
Sunday, October 23, 2022, at the Scott County Hospital in Scott City, 
Kansas.&nbsp; She was born on January 4, 1939, in Bristol, Colorado, the 
daughter of Robert Lee and Janet Marshall Basye.&nbsp; A resident of Scott 
City, Kansas since 2002 moving from Lakin, Kansas, she was a retired

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lamar, Colorado.

On August 4, 1957, she married Charles Lynn Ferrell in Lamar, Colorado.&nbsp; He passed away on May 25, 2010, in Fort Dodge, Kansas.

Survivors include her One Son - DeWayne &amp; Julie Ferrell of Scott 
City, Kansas, and One Daughter - Rhonda &amp; Jim Hubers of Sioux Falls,
 South Dakota.

She was preceded in death by her Parents, Two Brothers - Archie &amp; Ralph, and Two Sisters - Roberta &amp; Patricia.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 27, 2022 at the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, and 10:00

Gary Dean Lang,&nbsp;69, of&nbsp;Westminster, CO, passed away on&nbsp;October 20,&nbsp;2022,&nbsp;from complications of a stroke. Gary was born in Quinter. He was the fourth of six siblings born to Bennie and Minnie Lang where he grew up on the family farm. Gary attended catholic school in Park, KS and then graduated from&nbsp;Quinter High School&nbsp;in 1970.

After high school, Gary moved to Colorado in July 1970. On July 19, 1975, Gary&nbsp;married his high school sweetheart&nbsp;Marsha Jodell Press. They were married&nbsp;for 47 very happy years, mainly because Gary could clean a house almost as good as Marsha. &nbsp;Gary was truly a perfectionist with high attention to detail, was always helpful, and was a very prideful man. &nbsp;In fact, he took such pride in his appearance, he was the only man with that amount of hair that needed four brushes, a comb, a mirror, a hairdryer and an unnecessary amount of hairspray.

While his music career started when he was in high school, Gary spent nearly the next decade of his life playing the bass guitar with his two older brothers, Derrell and Ken, performing as The Lang Brothers. &nbsp;Gary not only excelled at his bass guitar and&nbsp;vocals but&nbsp;was especially skilled at stressing out Ken by not wanting to practice all hours of the day and loved to go off script. In 1976, The Lang Brothers recorded and then released an album called “Wagons Ho” that featured six songs, one of which was written by their father. The Lang Brothers went on the road playing in numerous venues from March to July 1977. During this time, they performed in Los Angeles CA, Peoria IL, Hartford CT, and Fort Lauderdale FL. &nbsp;From 2005-2007 The Lang Brothers held an annual reunion tour in Colby, Kansas. They headlined a local holiday concert and their final show performing together was held on November 18th.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Gary worked at Benson Optical from 1973 to 1982. During this time, he attended Pickens Technical College and became a certified optician through the American Board of Opticianry. In 1982, Gary began working as an optician for Kaiser Permanente, where he spent the next 14 years. Starting in 1997, alongside his partner Pete Cusack, Gary co-owned and operated Vision Masters in Greenwood Village, CO for nine years. After this adventure, he went back to work at Kaiser, where he was very highly respected, and remained until retirement. For many years during his optical career, he participated in HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America), acting as a judge to prepare young people for a career in health occupations. Gary had an incredible work ethic and took his job very seriously. He consistently received outstanding performance evaluations and awards for his dedication and knowledge in his profession. &nbsp;Co-workers also appreciated Gary for his delightful, entertaining, and witty humor, and has been greatly missed since his retirement on June 1, 2022. He was very eager for retirement, where he planned on doing home projects, yard work, and if he had time, relaxing and watching Gunsmoke.

While he did enjoy doing the necessary yard work, he undeniably preferred spending time with his family. He was a very devoted husband, a wonderful father, and the best grandpa and papa his grandkids could ask for.&nbsp;He never turned down an opportunity to play with his grandchildren. He gave horsey back rides and participated in wrestling matches as often as he could. &nbsp;Most importantly, Gary had Marsha by his side for everything. They took vacations to Hawaii and Boston, enjoyed watching movies, shopping, going on walks, and of course, eating at their favorite Mexican Restaurant, Rosita’s. They also prioritized watching their grandkids competing in soccer, t-ball, gymnastics, swimming, softball and martial arts.&nbsp;

Gary is survived by&nbsp;his wife Marsha;&nbsp;two sons, Jordan Lang and wife Michelle of Lawrence, KS, and Jarrod Lang and wife Brenda of Thornton, CO. His grandchildren were his pride and joy- Landon (9), Sydney (6), Brooklyn (8), Camden (5), and Easton (1). Gary’s siblings include Derrell (Pam), Charlene&nbsp;(Leon) Wittman, Ken (Bev), Coleen (Dan) Pickett, and Randy. He is also survived by many wonderful in-laws, 22 nieces and nephews, and many other family and friends.&nbsp;

Gary was preceded in death by&nbsp;his parents.

Funeral services will be held at&nbsp;the Church of the Brethren in Quinter, KS on Saturday, October 29,&nbsp;2022,&nbsp;at&nbsp;10:00 am.&nbsp;Dale Fredrickson of Highlands Ranch, CO will be officiating. Burial will follow at the&nbsp;Baker Township Cemetery in Quinter.

Visitation will be Friday, October 28, 2022, from 5-7pm at Schmitt Funeral Home in Quinter, KS.&nbsp;

Verlin Joe&nbsp;Schmidtberger, age 80, former Hays, Kansas, resident, passed away peacefully from Lewy Body Dementia, on&nbsp;Saturday, September 24, 2022, in Joplin, Missouri. &nbsp;

He was born August 23, 1942,&nbsp;in Victoria, Kansas&nbsp;to Acquilinus “Ike”&nbsp;and Albertina (Sander)Schmidtberger. &nbsp;He married JoAnn (Waldschmidt) on May 22, 1965,&nbsp;at St. Joseph Church&nbsp;in Hays, Kansas.&nbsp;They celebrated 51 years of marriage before she preceded him in death on June 2, 2016. &nbsp;The couple lived in Hays, KS before moving to Salina, Kansas&nbsp;in 2000.&nbsp;

Verlin&nbsp;graduated from Victoria High School in 1960. Growing up, he enjoyed spending summers with his Grandpa Sander on the farm.&nbsp;In his younger years, Verlin’s nickname&nbsp;was known as “Hunter”, he enjoyed playing games of snooker,&nbsp;and worked at a local grocery store, Mammals, and also as a meat cutter at P &amp; B Packers&nbsp;both&nbsp;in Hays.

Verlin was an expert mechanic and gifted musician, among many other accomplishments.&nbsp;Throughout his years he was employed by the State of Kansas, I-70 Truck Repair, R.C. Williams, Augie’s Truck Repair &amp; Towing, J Corp, Central Detroit Diesel, and Penske Trucks, before retiring in 2016.

He had a great passion for music. He taught himself how to play the accordion, guitar, saxophone, piano, and many other instruments. Verlin started his first Rock and Roll Band in early 1962. They were called the Marvelletts. They later changed their name to the Sonics and they ended up being called the Vibs. The band played until 1965. After that he played with the Jolly Mixers, Moonlighters, and Younger Brothers. Lastly, he formed his own band, Trust Company, which played for many years.

The family will receive friends from 9:00 to 11:00 A.M. Friday, and a Rosary at 10:30 A.M. Friday, all at The Basilica of St. Fidelis.

Longtime Goodland, Kansas, resident Jane Ann Harris, 73, passed away 
unexpectedly at the Hutchinson Regional Medical Center in Hutchinson on 
Saturday, October 15, 2022.

Jane was born in Goodland, KS on October 16, 1948, to Dale Edward and 
Maxine (Atkinson) Rauscher. She attended school in Goodland and 
graduated from Goodland High School in 1966.

She had several occupations before moving to Andover and working for 
The Boeing Company until her retirement.&nbsp; Jane moved back to Goodland 
several years ago where she enjoyed reconnecting with the community and 
her many hometown friends as well as her church family at St. Paul's 
Episcopal Church while maintaining her close relationship with her sons 
and their families.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Surviving family members include her two sons: Bryan (Tammy) Stephens
 of Hutchinson, KS and Brad (Shannon) Baker of Andover, KS. She is also 
survived by 8 grandchildren and one great granddaughter as well as many 
cousins and friends that are too numerous to count.

Julius 'Curly' John Bieker

James Lee Stalcup was born on November 15, 1949, in Wichita, Kansas, 
the son of Verdun and Vera Stalcup. He died on October 18, 2022, at the 
Downs Care and Rehab Center in Downs, Kansas at the age of 72.

Jim graduated from Derby High School in 1968, and served as a 
Sedgwick County Fireman and EMT. He also worked at the Sedgwick County 
Zoo.

On March 31, 1979, he was united in marriage with Debra Neifert. Two daughters, Rebecca and Stefanie were born to this union.

The family moved to Glen Elder, where he started working for the 
school district. He served many roles with the school before retiring. 
Upon retirement, he worked many odd jobs to fill his time.

Jim enjoyed coin collecting, coaching his daughters’ softball 
teams, fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family, 
grandchildren, and cats.

Left to mourn his passing are his wife, Debra of the home; 
daughters, Rebecca and husband Tony Prochaska of Simpson, and Stefanie 
and husband Trevor Gardner of Glen Elder; sister, Emilie Lockett of 
Hinesville, Georgia; and grandchildren, Sage &amp; Jacob Prochaska, and 
Elizabeth Gardner.

Graveside memorial services will be at 10:30 AM Tuesday, October 
25, at the Glenwood Cemetery in Glen Elder. Cremation has taken place 
&amp; there will be no visitation. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be 
given to Solomon Valley Hospice, the Glen Elder First Christian Church, 
or Post Rock Humane Society.

Fred R. Lovesee, 85, completed his Earthly journey October 21, 2022, at his home in Larned, KS.

He was born January 6, 1937, in Joplin, MO. &nbsp;He was the fifth child of
 eight born to Thomas and Frances (Birkner) Lovesee.&nbsp; He was raised in 
Miami, OK. Fred was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers 
and sisters.

After serving in the United States Air Force, Fred moved to 
Hoisington, KS where he met and married his wife of 60 years, Sharon 
(Novotny), on June 30, 1962.

Planting his roots, Fred became a lifelong area resident. He was an 
entrepreneur and founded many of the small-town pizza places in the 
Barton, Stafford, and Edwards County region. In 1985, Fred and his 
family moved to Kinsley, KS where he established Romano’s Pizza.

Fred is survived by his wife, Sharon Lovesee. Additional survivors 
include: four sons, Steve Lovesee, Kinsley, Doug Lovesee, Larned, Ron 
(Kim) Lovesee, Larned, and Joel (Sonya) Lovesee, Leon, KS; nine 
grandchildren, Andrew, Kayla, Paisley, Canvas, Torrance, Taytum, Tinley,
 Sam, and Levi; two siblings, sister, Ruby Smith and brother Tom 
Lovesee, both of Miami, OK.

He is also survived by two of his beloved dogs, Lil Bit and Frisky.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, November 4, 2022,&nbsp; at Beckwith Mortuary in Larned with Pastor Chris Nord presiding.&nbsp;

A celebration of life will be at a later date at Romano’s in Kinsley, KS.

Leon Joseph Moeder, 74, died October 19, 2022, at Wesley Medical 
Center, Wichita.&nbsp; He was born February 29, 1948, the second child of 
Engelbert “Bert” and Rita (Sulzman) Moeder.

Leon graduated from Plainville High School and received his 
bachelor’s degree from Fort Hays State University, in 1972. While a 
student at Fort Hays State University, he was a member of the rodeo 
club, where Leon became a bull rider. &nbsp;In May 1974, he started his 
career as an auctioneer and real estate broker.&nbsp; Leon became CEO and 
owner of Davenport Auction &amp; Realty, Inc., in 1986.&nbsp; In his almost 
50-year auctioneer career, Leon proudly helped with over 3,000 auctions 
ranging from commercial and personal property to diamonds. &nbsp;Most 
recently, he was a substitute teacher for USD 308.&nbsp; With his humor and 
quick wit, Leon quickly gained the respect of his students and loved 
helping to make a difference in their lives.

Leon enjoyed grilling for his family, with steak as his specialty.&nbsp; 
Listening to sports commentaries and watching his beloved Kansas City 
Chiefs, in particular Patrick Mahomes, were some of his favorite 
pastimes. &nbsp;&nbsp;Leon was a member of St. Teresa Catholic Church, Hutchinson.

Leon held a special bond with his only grandchild, Brailey.&nbsp; From the
 moment she was born, Leon was a proud grandpa and one of her biggest 
cheerleaders.&nbsp; When Brailey had school activities, whether it was a 
sporting or musical event, he strived to be in attendance.&nbsp; &nbsp;Leon was a 
one-of-a-kind dad, grandpa, brother, uncle, friend, cowboy, auctioneer, 
and mentor.&nbsp; There will never be another Leon Moeder!

Leon is survived by:&nbsp; sons, Daron Moeder and Toby Moeder, both of 
Hutchinson; granddaughter, Brailey Moeder of Hutchinson; siblings, Denis

Leon Joseph Moeder

Gay Beth Moore-Briggs, 86, passed away on
 October 21, 2022 at Presbyterian Manor of the Plains in Dodge City 
following a lengthy health battle.&nbsp; She was born on November 13, 1935, in Bloomington, Kansas, the daughter of Otto and Helen (Smith) Fritche.

She was raised in Osborne County.&nbsp; After
 completing high school, Gay Beth went on to further her education at 
Fort Hays State University, earning her BS in education.&nbsp; She married Don Moore of Copeland.&nbsp; To this union, three&nbsp; children were born, Dale, Doug, and Vicki.&nbsp; Soon after, she began her career as a teacher in the local school system, a career that spanned 44 years.

A community leader over that same four decades, Gay Beth was active in Haskell County 4-H and Kansas Farm Bureau.&nbsp; She
 was known for constantly educating youth and adults alike, whether it 
be English or math or simply how to strive for success.

In 1985, she became good friends with a colleague, Robert (Bob) Briggs.&nbsp; They were married on June 10, 1990, at the Copeland Christian Church.&nbsp; They enjoyed traveling after retirement, spending time in Arizona during the winter months.&nbsp; Gay Beth enjoyed following her grandchildren’s activities.

Gay Beth is 
survived by her three children: Dale and Faith Moore of Fredrick, 
Maryland, Doug and Shannon Moore of Pittsburg, Oklahoma, and Vicki and 
Troy Hesser of Louisburg; four step-children Rhonda and Galen Berry of 
Port Aransas, Texas, Melinda Fikan of Colby, Rodney and Michelle Briggs 
of Independence, Missouri, and Troy Briggs and Sarah Rains of Sublette; a
 sister, Ruth and Don Wyckoff of Norman, Oklahoma;&nbsp; 13
 grandchildren, Dustin Moore (Amy), Michael Moore (Elena), Cutter Moore 
(Lea), Blade Moore (Remi), Stephanie Unruh (Jeff), Brigit Hesser (Emma 
Hofer), Alicia Siruta (Jason), Bradley Fikan (Shannon), Meredith Castor 
(Charles), Amy Briggs, Stacy Briggs, Brooke and Bailey Briggs and their 
mother, Tiffany Briggs; 24 great grandchildren; and three great-great 
grandchildren.&nbsp; She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bob Briggs, and husband, Don Moore

Christian Church on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at 10:30 AM with Pastor

 completing high school, Gay Beth went on to further her education at 
Fort Hays State University, earning her BS in education.&nbsp; She married Don Moore of Copeland.&nbsp; To this union, three&nbsp; children were born, Dale, Doug, and Vicki.&nbsp; Soon after, she began her career as a teacher in the local school system, a career that spanned 44 years.A community leader over that same four decades, Gay Beth was active in Haskell County 4-H and Kansas Farm Bureau.&nbsp; She
 was known for constantly educating youth and adults alike, whether it 
be English or math or simply how to strive for success.In 1985, she became good friends with a colleague, Robert (Bob) Briggs.&nbsp; They were married on June 10, 1990, at the Copeland Christian Church.&nbsp; They enjoyed traveling after retirement, spending time in Arizona during the winter months.&nbsp; Gay Beth enjoyed following her grandchildren’s activities.Gay Beth is 
survived by her three children: Dale and Faith Moore of Fredrick, 
Maryland, Doug and Shannon Moore of Pittsburg, Oklahoma, and Vicki and 
Troy Hesser of Louisburg; four step-children Rhonda and Galen Berry of 
Port Aransas, Texas, Melinda Fikan of Colby, Rodney and Michelle Briggs 
of Independence, Missouri, and Troy Briggs and Sarah Rains of Sublette; a
 sister, Ruth and Don Wyckoff of Norman, Oklahoma;&nbsp; 13
 grandchildren, Dustin Moore (Amy), Michael Moore (Elena), Cutter Moore 
(Lea), Blade Moore (Remi), Stephanie Unruh (Jeff), Brigit Hesser (Emma 
Hofer), Alicia Siruta (Jason), Bradley Fikan (Shannon), Meredith Castor 
(Charles), Amy Briggs, Stacy Briggs, Brooke and Bailey Briggs and their 
mother, Tiffany Briggs; 24 great grandchildren; and three great-great

Nita Elsie (Peterson) Mohr of Great Bend, passed away on October 21, 
2022, at University of Kansas Health Systems – Great Bend. She was born 
on October 22, 1943, at Great Bend, to Clarence Theodore and Jenny Elsie
 (Marsh) Peterson.

Nita, a lifetime resident of Great Bend, was a homemaker and enjoyed 
sewing for her family and others. She enjoyed playing cards at the 
Senior Center, bowling, golfing, traveling, camping and fishing, and 
always looking for a bargain at garage sales. She loved and adored her 
chihuahuas.

Survivors include her husband, Richard; one son, Ronald Wayne Mohr 
(companion Brenda Worley) of Great Bend; two granddaughters, Shelby 
Payne (husband Dane Walker) of Lubbock, Tex., and Calie Payne of 
Boulder, Colo.; a son-in-law, John Payne of Joshua, Tex.; and one 
great-grandson, Nixon Walker.

Nita is preceded in death by her daughter, Rhonda Lynn Payne; her 
twin sister, Rita Mae Roblyer; her brother, Clarence “Pete” Peterson; 
and her parents.

Visitation will take place from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday,

Tommy was a graduate of Fairfield High School, Langdon, and Garden City Community College, Garden City.

Thomas ‘Tommy’ Lynn Rumford

Dwight Emmett Wentz, son of Fred and Violet Wentz, was born September
 24, 1951, in Oberlin, Kansas, and passed away at Norton County Hospital on
 October 20, 2022, at the age of 71 years.

Dwight was a lifelong 
resident of Norton and Decatur Counties.  He spent much of his life 
residing at his childhood home, spending the last 32 years of his life 
residing at the family homestead where he grew up.  Dwight graduated 
from Norcatur High School in 1969.  Dwight and Mary Louise Miller were 
married on August 6, 1971, in Norton, Kansas.  They had five children and
 celebrated 51 years of marriage.

Most of his life was tied back 
to agriculture.  In his younger years, he had multiple occupations 
including trucking, welding, maintenance and repair, custom combining 
and even a little time working in the oilfield.  He also worked several 
years at MGM Grain in Norcatur. Those years gave him the experience to 
be successful in later endeavors. As well as production farming, he 
owned several businesses including D&amp;M Service (both the repair shop
 and the fuel business), A&amp;W, Oberlin Sinclair, D&amp;M Auto, and 
D&amp;M Repair (Oberlin.)

He enjoyed traveling, collecting cars, and spending time with family, especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors
 include his wife Mary, and his children, Galen (Jamie) Wentz of Norton,
 Darren (Lois) Wentz of Clayton, Troy (Jessica) Wentz of Norcatur, 
Katrina (David) Edgerton of Hoisington, Carissa (Jacob) Larue of 
Oberlin.  He is survived by 15 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. 
As well as brothers Walter Wentz, Carl Wentz, and LaRene Wentz, and 
sisters Florence Marsh, Sylvia Wilroy, and Rosalie Kraft.  He was 
preceded in death by both his parents, two brothers Eugene Wentz and 
Brett Wentz and one sister Karolyn Kingham.

Funeral service will 
be Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at 11:00AM at Pauls Funeral Home, 
Oberlin.  Visitation will be Tuesday, October 25, 2022, from 12:00-7:00

Francis “Frank” Jacobs, 78, of Topeka, Kansas died Thursday, October 20, 
2022, at Heritage Gardens Nursing home after battling dementia. 

Frank 
was born on October 5, 1944, in Hays, Kansas. He was the son of Edward 
and Katherine Jacobs. He earned two Master's degrees from the University
 of Kansas. He married Alice Jacobs in 1978, but she passed in June of 
2018. Frank had two brothers, Edward Jacobs and Tom Jacobs, and one 
sister, Ephigenia Jacobs. He is survived by his two children, Kevyn 
Jacobs and Dale Jacobs, as well as two step-children, Tom Long and Brenda 
Alfrey. He has 2 grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren, and 17 
great-step-grandchildren. Frank was a history buff, an amateur 
genealogist, and traced his family tree back hundreds of years through 
multiple countries. He had a life-long career working for the State of 
Kansas in criminal justice, juvenile probation, and social work. He was 
an outdoors-man and enjoyed duck hunting, fishing, and camping. He loved
 to travel and spend time with his grandchildren. Frank also enjoyed 
karaoke and quartet singing. He was as smart as a whip and loved to 
research history, military battles, and could fix just about anything 
mechanical. He will be missed by all of his family and friends. Out
 of respect for Frank’s wishes, there will be no memorial service 
planned. The family will have their own private memorial observance. Dove Cremations and Funerals Southwest Chapel is assisting the family.&nbsp;

Helen M. Davis, 92, Hays, died Thursday, October 20, 2022, at the Hays Good Samaritan Society.

She was born August 22, 1930, in 
Dorrance, the daughter of James L. and Hattie (Sulc) Gustason.&nbsp;&nbsp;On 
February 7, 1948, she was united in marriage to Roy L. Davis in Hays, and
 they celebrated over 48 years of marriage before he preceded her in 
death on August 21, 1996.&nbsp;&nbsp;Helen and Roy built their beautiful home and 
enjoyed raising their family on the farm, and she proudly lived there 
for over 60 years.&nbsp;&nbsp;From 1970-2000, she worked for the East Plains DHIA 
as a dairy tester and during her employment helped form the state 
supervisor association and served as the treasurer.&nbsp;&nbsp;She was active in 
her community serving as the Buckeye PTA treasurer, president of the 
Buckeye Ladies Club, leader for the Buckeye Junior Farmers 4-H Club, and
 helped at the Ellis County Fair as a superintendent.&nbsp;&nbsp;She enjoyed 
traveling, camping, boating, dancing, and cherished her family.

Survivors include her son: Randy Davis 
and wife Mary of Hays, daughter: Ruby Davis (Mark Rowland) of Eden, NY, a
 brother: Vernon Gustason and wife Coeta of Massachusetts, two 
grandchildren: Rochelle Werth and Robbie Davis and wife Jill, all of 
Hays, six great grandchildren: Maryssa McClure, Brady Werth and fiancé 
Paris Wolf, Rylynn Davis, Reagan Davis, Abbi Rupp, and Leevi Rupp, and 
numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her

Avis (Schindler) Look of Hays, KS, formerly of Stockton, KS, 
passed away on October 20, 2022, in Hays, KS at the age of 88. She was 
born on July 9, 1934, to Raymond and Vera (Arrington) Schindler in 
Greenfield Rooks County, KS. She was married to Lester E. Look on May 
17, 1952, in Belleville, KS. They were blessed with two daughters: 
Patricia and Diane.

Avis grew up in Stockton. She 
graduated from Stockton High School in 1952 and married Lester soon 
after. She was a homemaker and kept busy raising their daughters. She

Church where she was a member. She had a strong relationship with her 
Lord and savior Jesus Christ that helped her throughout her life.

One
 of the greatest joys of her life was her family. Her grandchildren were
 often treated to a trip to the Sternberg Museum, one of her favorite 
destinations. She had special talents at quilting, embroidery, 
gardening, and cooking. She enjoyed collecting recipe books and 
windmills. A trip to Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park where 
she viewed the mountains and wildlife was always at the top of her list 
of many travels.

Avis has gone to be with her Lord and 
will be greatly missed by all who knew her. The legacy of her love, 
laughter, and joy will remain in our hearts and memories forever.

 is survived by her husband, Lester; daughters, Patricia (Stan) Remmers 
of Sabetha, KS and Diane (Randall) Hrabe of Plainville, KS; siblings, 
Zoe Hrabe of Stockton, Kermit (Barbara) Schindler of Stockton, Kenneth 
Schindler of Topeka, KS, Marilyn (Dwight) Miller of Stockton, Louis 
Schindler of Hill City, KS, Marvin Schindler of Goddard, KS, and Henry 
Schindler of Great Bend, KS; sisters-in-law, Julie Schindler and Sandy 
Schindler; 8 grandchildren, Judd (Tanya) Remmers, Matt Hrabe, Joel 
(Felicia) Hrabe, Greg Remmers, Emily Hrabe, Abigail (Richard) Kidwell, 
Libby (Lance) Ziegler, and Caroline (Chris) Keas; and 14 
great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her 
parents, Raymond and Vera; siblings, Rita (Gene) Hrabe, Richard 
Schindler, Charles Schindler, and Raymond, Jr. (Shirley) Schindler; and 
brother-in-law, Normand Hrabe.

A Celebration of Life 
Service will be held on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at 11:00 AM, at the 
Stockton Church of Restoration. Burial will follow in the Stockton 
Cemetery. There will be no public visitation.

passed away on October 20, 2022, in Hays, KS at the age of 88. She was 
born on July 9, 1934, to Raymond and Vera (Arrington) Schindler in 
Greenfield Rooks County, KS. She was married to Lester E. Look on May 
17, 1952, in Belleville, KS. They were blessed with two daughters: 
Patricia and Diane.Avis grew up in Stockton. She 
graduated from Stockton High School in 1952 and married Lester soon 
after. She was a homemaker and kept busy raising their daughters. She

Waunda M. White, 61, passed away October 20, 2022, at Pratt Regional Medical Center, Pratt.

She was born October 10, 1961, in Cleveland, Mississippi, the daughter of Dorcey and Joyce Kendell Howell.

A longtime area resident, she was the Activity Director at 
Diversicare of Larned. She was of the Christian faith and a member of 
the American Legion Auxiliary.

Survivors include: three sons, Jeremy Keith White, Great Bend, Justin
 White, Missouri and Joshua White, Larned; companion, Michael David 
Hayes, Larned; brother, Allan Howell, Cleveland, Mississippi; two 
sisters, Camille Yarborough, Starksville, Mississippi, Anita Howell, 
Cleveland, Mississippi; and a granddaughter, Paige White.

Cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time.

She worked as a trust clerk / teller for UMB Bank in Salina for 30 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ivan E and Dorothy A. S. (Roths) Stetler, and her husband, Earl Wood.

Survivors include her 3 sons, Jeff &nbsp;Wood of Salina, Jeremy (Heather) 
Wood of Bennington, and Jason (Patty) Wood of Salina, her sister, Jan 
(Don) Leiker of Strasburg, Colorado, 6 grandchildren, 4 nephews and 1
