This weekend, the 75th anniversary of the arrival of the Kansas Merci Boxcar, a gift from France in appreciation of American support, will be celebrated.

The ceremony, which will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday at Veteran's Park, 1305 Canterbury, will feature Hays Mayor Shaun Musil and a guest speaker who will discuss the unique history of the boxcars.

Director of the Kansas Merci Boxcar, Vance Chartier, said the ceremony is dedicated to honoring veterans from the First Infantry Division to those currently serving.

"We are honoring the tie of that boxcar to the veterans by honoring our living veterans as well as those who have passed," he said.

The ceremony will feature the reading of proclamations from both Musil and Kelly.

The celebration will also include a rendition of The Armed Forces Medley to honor veterans, followed by a reading of the poem "In Flander's Field."

Executive Director of the Kansas Historical Society, Patrick Zollner, will speak at the ceremony about its preservation and support from Kansas.

"Part of his talk is going to cover the giving nature of the people of Kansas and how we like to give to those that need help," he said.

During World War I, American "Doughboys" were transported in small boxcars known as "Forty &amp; Eights," which would carry either 40 men or eight horses.

After World War II, the French government prioritized rebuilding infrastructure with the Marshall Plan but provided minimal assistance in feeding its citizens.

Radio commentator and news announcer Drew Pearson challenged the American people to send food and grain, resulting in 700 boxcars of goods being sent.

Chartier said the idea also stemmed from an effort to surpass the Soviet Union, which was sending minimal goods to the country.

"This idea got started to show the French people we're better than the Russians," he said.

On June 14, 1949, the Merci Boxcar arrived in Kansas. It toured 120 cities before arriving in Hays and serving as the main attraction of the Armistice Day Parade that November.

After the parade, it was transported to the Forsythe Library at Fort Hays Teacher's College and later relocated to the American Legion Post 173.

In 2017, it was relocated to Veterans Park. Since its arrival in the United States, <a href="https://www.fortyandeight.org/">The Society of Forty Men and Eight Horses</a> has served as the caretakers of the Kansas Merci Boxcar.

Chartier said having the Kansas Merci Boxcar in Hays is an honor as nearly half of them are gone, and few remain in good condition.

"We have one of the top five boxcars. We're the first one to have a museum inside," he said.

The boxcar was refurbished and rebuilt but retained its original frame and roof. The boxcar museum houses uniforms from various wars and equipment, such as gas masks and telephones.

In 1949, thousands of World War I veterans and millions of World War II veterans vividly remembered spending up to a week being transported to or from the battlefronts in the same type of boxcar.

There were no seats, windows, toilets, or sleeping and dining accommodations. Surviving veterans chose to make the gift boxcars memorials to those lost and the sacrifices they made.

Twenty registered nurses were recently honored at HaysMed for graduating from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Registered Nurse (RN) Residency Program. The program included a year-long practice introduction that was filled with many accomplishments along the way.

The nurses in the ANCC Registered Nurse Residency Program at HaysMed began their journey in July 2023. This program included a year-long practice introduction providing the twenty nurses with essential clinical experience, personalized mentorship, and on-the-job training, all aimed at enhancing their skills and experience. Additionally, nurses in the program received training from professionals in several departments, such as Intensive Care Unit, Progressive Care Unit, Obstetrics, Ambulatory Care Unit, Surgical, and others.

HaysMed celebrates Registered Nurse Residency Program graduates

Cottonwood Extension District brought the diabetes education program Dining with Diabetes to Ellis County for the first time in June. Monique Koerner and Karissa Winkel, Family and Community Wellness Agents were trained in 2023 and introduced the program to Hays last month.

Dining with Diabetes is a national extension program provided to Kansans by K-State Research and Extension Family and Consumer Sciences professionals and community health partners. The program is a series of four, 2-hour classes that are held once a week. Classes consist of a presentation on diabetes self-care or healthful food choices; presentations on tasty, healthy familiar foods, sampling foods, and demonstrations of cooking techniques using artificial sweeteners, reduced-fat foods, herbs, and spices.

The class in Hays had 8 attendees which was a really nice size for our first group of participants. Some of the participants knew each other and others met for the first time. However, they all had something in common. They were dealing with diabetes management for themselves or with a loved one.

In addition to the education aspect of the program, the group cooked together which really helped them get to know each other. Hopefully by actually cooking meals that are designed specifically for diabetics they got the hands-on practice that gave them the confidence to try more healthy meals at home. Participants received a book of recipes that have been created for diabetics. One participant noted how much better she felt after eating the healthy recipes. Another participant was surprised to find out she could still eat foods she thought were taboo or felt she had to eliminate from her diet.

Another aspect of diabetes that isn’t often discussed are the feelings around being diagnosed and managing diabetes. Sometimes it can be overwhelming. However, one of the participants felt that being able to share feelings with other diabetics was helpful. She felt supported which in turn helped her to make changes in her nutritional life and motivated to start taking better care of herself.

Extension also partners with local agencies such as health departments, hospitals, and dieticians to answer questions that may require a health care provider knowledge. In June, we had Kalee Lundmark, Registered Dietician, serve as our expert guest speaker. Kalee provided more specific information around nutrition, resources, and medications.

Part of the Dining with Diabetes program includes a 3 month follow up class for participants to share about their progress and challenges since taking the class. That class is planned for the first part of October.

Cottonwood Extension District will be offering Dining with Diabetes later this year in Barton County. Watch for details this fall.

Three-day weather outlook

RUSSELL COUNTY—Two people were injured in an accident just after 11a.m. Tuesday in Russell County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2004 Dodge Neon driven by Christopher T. Ford, 18, Hillsboro, Missouri was westbound on Interstate 70 just east of the Gorham exit in the passing lane when it caught up to another vehicle. 

The driver moved the car back into the driving lane and struck the rear of the trailer on a 2023 Kenworth semi driven by Frederick A.&nbsp;Mendoza, 58, Tulsa, Oklahoma.

EMS transported&nbsp; and a passenger Gage L.&nbsp;Ojile, 18, Arnold, Missouri, to the Russell Regional Hospital.&nbsp;Mendoza was not injured. All three were properly restrained, according to the KHP.

The Philadelphia Phillies selected Tegan Cain in the 13th
round of the Major League Baseball Draft Tuesday in Arlington, Texas.

Cain, the Ellis Native, finished his junior season at the
University of Kansas with a 1-2 record and a 5.64 ERA. In 33 1/3 innings
pitched Cain allowed 22 earned runs with 47 strikeouts and he surrendered just
18 walks in 27 appearances. 

Prior to attending Kansas, Cain spent two season at Barton
Community College where he finished with a 9-4 career record and a 4.31 ERA in
29 appearances.

At Ellis, in high school, Cain finished with a 20-2 record
and 2.12 ERA. In 102 1/3 innings pitched he had 50 walks and 203 career strikeouts.

Cain has one year of&nbsp;eligibility at Kansas and could return to Lawrence for his
senior season.

A blockbuster merger moves forward in South America, while another is announced in North Dakota. News reports suggest a breakthrough in the fight between ExxonMobil and Chevron over&nbsp;oil&nbsp;assets off the northeast shore of South America.&nbsp; Reuters reports the two firms have finalized plans for an arbitration panel to address the dispute over Chevron's $53 BILLION purchase of Hess Corp. Chevron and Hess had hoped to complete their merger earlier this year, but now it looks like the dispute will extend into next year.

Devon Energy is spending big bucks to greatly expand its position in North Dakota. The company will shell out $5 billion in cash and stock to buy Grayson Mill Energy. Forecast output from the new acreage exceeds 100-thousand barrels a day.

The weekly Rotary Rig Count from Baker Hughes is down one&nbsp;oil&nbsp;rig and one gas rig for a total of 584 rigs. The count in Louisiana is up one; Texas is down two rigs.

The Kansas Rig Count from Independent&nbsp;Oil&nbsp;and Gas Service shows 30 active rigs statewide including an increase of one rig in Western Kansas. The tally is down six percent from a month ago and 23% lower than a year ago. Drilling continued on a lease in Barton County Friday.

Regulators in the Sunflower State okayed 21 new drilling locations, with eleven in Western Kansas including two new permits in Barton County and one in Ellis County. That's 519 new drilling permits so far this year, down from 666 by this time last year.

Kansas operators completed 23 wells last week. Independent&nbsp;Oil&nbsp;and Gas Service reports seven of them are west of Wichita including one well in Barton County and one in Russell County.

The US imports more crude&nbsp;oil&nbsp;than we export, by more than 2.7 million barrels a day. But, product exports outpace imports by nearly five thousand barrels per day, making the US a net petroleum exporter. Crude exports averaged just short of four thousand barrels per day last week. That's down four-thousand daily barrels from a week ago but nearly double the tally from a year ago. US crude imports averaged 6.8 million barrels a day last week, an increase of 214 thousand daily barrels from the week before. Four-week average imports are up more than five percent from a year ago.

The government reported a huge pre-holiday drawdown in crude-oil&nbsp;inventories. Stockpiles dropped 3.4 million barrels in the week through July 5th. The Energy Information Administration reports stockpiles of just over 445 million barrels, 13 million barrels less than a year ago and four percent below the five-year average. The Energy Department added another half million barrels to the Strategic Petroleum Reserve. &nbsp;U.S. crude-oil&nbsp;production averaged 13,284,000 barrels per day. That's up 101,000 barrels per day from a week ago and nearly a million barrels a day higher than a year ago.

Global trade in Liquefied Natural Gas grew by more than three percent last year. A government report says increasing natural gas demand and expanding export capacity drove drove a spike in global LNG trade last year. US export capacity was a big driver. The Freeport LNG facility in the Gulf of Mexico returned to service in February last year after being offline since June of the year before. Other nations increasing LNG trade last year were Mozambique, Russia, Indonesia, Norway and Oman.

The count in Louisiana is up one; Texas is down two rigs.The Kansas Rig Count from Independent&nbsp;Oil&nbsp;and Gas Service shows 30 active rigs statewide including an increase of one rig in Western Kansas. The tally is down six percent from a month ago and 23% lower than a year ago. Drilling continued on a lease in Barton County Friday.Regulators in the Sunflower State okayed 21 new drilling locations, with eleven in Western Kansas including two new permits in Barton County and one in Ellis County. That's 519 new drilling permits so far this year, down from 666 by this time last year.Kansas operators completed 23 wells last week. Independent&nbsp;Oil&nbsp;and Gas Service reports seven of them are west of Wichita including one well in Barton County and one in Russell County.The US imports more crude&nbsp;oil&nbsp;than we export, by more than 2.7 million barrels a day. But, product exports outpace imports by nearly five thousand barrels per day, making the US a net petroleum exporter. Crude exports averaged just short of four thousand barrels per day last week. That's down four-thousand daily barrels from a week ago but nearly double the tally from a year ago. US crude imports averaged 6.8 million barrels a day last week, an increase of 214 thousand daily barrels from the week before. Four-week average imports are up more than five percent from a year ago.The government reported a huge pre-holiday drawdown in crude-oil&nbsp;inventories. Stockpiles dropped 3.4 million barrels in the week through July 5th. The Energy Information Administration reports stockpiles of just over 445 million barrels, 13 million barrels less than a year ago and four percent below the five-year average. The Energy Department added another half million barrels to the Strategic Petroleum Reserve. &nbsp;U.S. crude-oil&nbsp;production averaged 13,284,000 barrels per day. That's up 101,000 barrels per day from a week ago and nearly a million barrels a day higher than a year ago.Global trade in Liquefied Natural Gas grew by more than three percent last year. A government report says increasing natural gas demand and expanding export capacity drove drove a spike in global LNG trade last year. US export capacity was a big driver. The Freeport LNG facility in the Gulf of Mexico returned to service in February last year after being offline since June of the year before. Other nations increasing LNG trade last year were Mozambique, Russia, Indonesia, Norway and Oman.

Winds in Hays topped out at 66 mph Monday night, toppling trees and breaking tree limbs.

Hays received 1.75 inches of rain, according to the K-State Ag Research Center.&nbsp;

That brings Hays to 2.14 inches of rain for July and 13.14 inches of precipitation for the year. Hays averages 14.67 inches of rain by the end of July.

Despite the heat on Monday, Hays did not set a record. The high at the ag center was measured as 107. The record high of 110 was recorded in 1913.

The forecast calls for a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 1 a.m. tonight.

Highs are forecast to remain in the 80s through Saturday with a chance of storms again Friday night.

High winds topple trees in Hays overnight

Russell County Sheriff's Department

On July 12th at about 10:15 a.m. the Russell County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the 300 block of north Kansas Avenue in Luray for an animal welfare check.

Arriving on scene, the sheriff’s Office became aware of several animals in an abandoned house that appeared to be in distress.  The owners of the animals were identified, and contact was made.

Further investigation led the Sheriff’s Office to become aware that the animals were in danger and very stressed because of the severe heat conditions and the apparent health concerns that the animals presented. 

 Contact was made with Golden Belt Humane Society in Great Bend, which arrived at the location to assist the Sheriff’s Office in capturing and taking care of the animals.

The animals were then transported to Golden Belt Humane Society and Ark Valley Veterinary Hospital located in Great Bend for further treatment and evaluation.

This is an active investigation, people of interest in this investigation have been identified.

Names will not be released until this investigation is completed and has been reviewed by the Russell County Attorney’s Office.

The Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the Golden Belt Humane Society for their swift response and professionalism while assisting the Sheriff’s Office.

Russell County Sheriff seizes animals in heat distress

The Hays USD 489 superintendent updated the school board on district construction projects at the board's meeting on Monday.

Work is progressing on the bond projects at Roosevelt Elementary School and Hays High School, Superintendent Ron Wilson said.

The board members will tour the construction sites at their August retreat.&nbsp;

The Wilson Elementary School parking lot was reconstructed this summer. Morgan Brothers did that project, along with reconstructing the street in front of the school. The city paid for the street.

HVAC work is still being completed at O'Loughlin Elementary School. Asbestos remediation work was also completed at the school this summer.

A new freezer was purchased for Hays Middle School. The old freezer was removed from inside the building, and the new freezer was installed outside, freeing up more space in the HMS kitchen.

Crews also have been working on floors and asbestos abatement at HMS.

The district has been notified it received a Safe and Secure Schools grant. It will use those funds to renew its subscription to the&nbsp;<a href="https://hayspost.com/posts/36eec539-38f6-48f3-9633-b9b096ac1ebd">Raptor notification system</a>, which helps reunite students with their guardians in an emergency.

The school board elected a new president and vice president at its meeting on Monday as part of its annual reorganization.

Curt Vajnar was elected president, and Jayme Goetz was elected vice president.

The board approved policy changes recommended by the Kansas Association of School Boards. One policy aligns the district with a state law that will allow virtual students to participate in extracurricular activities. They will no longer be required to be enrolled in a class in the district.

The district had first a reading on student handbooks for the upcoming school year. Wilson said one of the most significant changes is that guardians will need to notify the school each day a child will be absent.

Hays High School is also creating a 10-minute passing period to allow more time for second breakfast.

As 146 years of tradition dictate the last weekend in July, the Nicodemus Homecoming Emancipation Celebration (NHEC) will be held Thursday through Sunday, July 25th - 28th, 2024.&nbsp; This year's theme invokes our love for family and fully displays the excellence and accomplishments that our ancestors and current descendants have made over the past 146 years.

The four-day Homecoming begins on Thursday; the evening is set aside for the annual meetings of the organizations supporting&nbsp; Nicodemus:&nbsp; NHEC LLC., National Park Service, Nicodemus Township Board, Nicodemus Historic Landmark District Association, Kansas Black Farmers Association’s quarterly meeting and Nicodemus Historical Society will host “Meet and Greet Beans and Jeans”.&nbsp; The public is welcome.

Friday morning starts with the FREE Cowboy Breakfast, hosted by the family of Freddie and Ivalee Switzer.&nbsp; Activities throughout the day include the Live Family Tree, individual Stories From The Stage, a Sunshine Story Teller by “Ina Buckner-Barnette” and late-night Karaoke.

Saturday, our contributing partner, the Kansas Black Farmers Association, will sponsor the 5K Run/Walk and the complimentary Pancake Breakfast.&nbsp;&nbsp; At 11:00 AM, is our crowd favorite, the Official 146th Homecoming Emancipation Celebration Parade.&nbsp; The National Park Service will discuss Brown v. Nicodemus homecoming: Journey of Triumphs - 146 years of Excellence

The International Association of Forensic Nurses (IAFN) honored Jessica Albers, MFS, BSN, RN, SANE-A, SANE-P. with the Virginia A. Lynch Pioneer Award in Forensic Nursing, the Association’s highest award, at a presentation held at Hays Medical Center (HaysMed) in Hays, Kansas on Friday, June 28, 2024. Albers is Sexual Assault/Forensic Nurse Examiner at Hays Medical Center. The award is named for Virginia Lynch, known globally as the “mother of forensic nursing.”

Albers also serves the Kansas Coalition Against Sexual and Domestic Violence in several capacities: Continuing Nurse Education Program Coordinator, Statewide Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) Clinical Consultant, and SANE/Sexual Assault Resource Team (SART) Instructor.

“Jessica is a leader and role model for forensic nursing in Kansas and has shown her commitment to the development of the specialty year after year,” said Jandi Head, Forensic Program Coordinator in Liberal, Kansas and the current Kansas IAFN Chapter President, who both nominated Albers and presented the award. “She has presented thousands of hours of training, extending both her knowledge and clinical skill to expand forensic nursing throughout the state. Jessica’s pioneering spirit has impacted countless patients’ lives and careers of nurses, and it has contributed to the overall specialty’s growth,” she said.

Albers was selected for the international award in recognition of exceptional contributions to forensic nursing, particularly her work focused on trauma-informed and patient-centered care, strangulation, suspect exams, sexual violence awareness and forensic nursing, as well as her dedication to evidence-based practice solutions and innovative approaches to meet the SANE shortage. Her forensic nursing expertise rests on not only clinical skills but also professional research and work in forensic science; in 2004, Albers worked as a graduate student in Iraq with the first wave of archaeologists and anthropologists who collected evidence that was used in the trial against Saddam Hussein.

Hays Medical Center’s President and CEO, Eddie Herrman praised Albers saying, "Jessica Albers embodies the excellence that defines HaysMed. Her unwavering commitment to forensic nursing and her compassionate care for patients set a high standard for our entire team. We are incredibly proud to recognize her outstanding contributions with this award."

“Jessica is a pillar of expertise with a unique perspective of a nurse clinician and educator as well as a forensic scientist,” said Anne Boatright, MSN, RN, SANE-A, FAAN, IAFN president. “Our specialty is deepened and expanded by pioneering forensic nurses like Jessica, and it is truly an honor to recognize her contributions with forensic nursing’s highest award,” she said.

Albers earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Nebraska Medical Center and a Master of Forensic Science from Nebraska Wesleyan University. She is a native of McCook, Nebraska and has worked in Kansas since 2001.

Hays Medical Center nurse receives international award

NORTON COUNTY—Two people were injured in an accident just after 10a.m. Monday in Norton County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2023 Hyundia Santa Fe driven by&nbsp; Shayne Marie&nbsp; Francisco, 41, Denver, Colorado,&nbsp;was parked on the westbound shoulder of Kansas 383 five and one half miles west of U.S. 36 using the phone. 

A 2000 Freightliner semi driven by Jose Salas&nbsp;Gonzales, 68, Holcomb, was also westbound and entered the left lane to pass the Hyundai.&nbsp; As the semi attempted to pass, the SUV re-entered the roadway and tried to pull into a private drive on the opposite side of the highway.&nbsp; The semi struck the SUV.

NORTON COUNTY—Two people were injured in an accident just after 10a.m. Monday in Norton County.The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2023 Hyundia Santa Fe driven by&nbsp; Shayne Marie&nbsp; Francisco, 41, Denver, Colorado,&nbsp;was parked on the westbound shoulder of Kansas 383 five and one half miles west of U.S. 36 using the phone. A 2000 Freightliner semi driven by Jose Salas&nbsp;Gonzales, 68, Holcomb, was also westbound and entered the left lane to pass the Hyundai.&nbsp; As the semi attempted to pass, the SUV re-entered the roadway and tried to pull into a private drive on the opposite side of the highway.&nbsp; The semi struck the SUV.EMS transported Francisco and Gonzales to the Norton County Hospital. The car left the road to the left, traveled in the ditch, crossed the intersection of Kansas 383 and struck the rear axel of a 2015 Freightliner semi's trailer that was stopped northbound at the stop sign of the intersection.

EMS transported Dick to the Norton County Hospital. The semi driver&nbsp; Shawn W&nbsp;Lupkes, 53, Minden, Nebraska, was not injured. Both drivers were properly restrained, according to the KHP.

Bicycling is a great activity for children. It increases coordination and improves physical health. It can also give children a sense of independence and provide the opportunity to socialize with others outdoors.

With that being said, bicycling isn’t a risk-free activity. In fact, according to Stanford Medicine, about 254 thousand children suffer bicycle-related injuries each year. For this reason, it’s important to educate children about bike safety practices. You can do your part as a parent or guardian by keeping a watchful eye and offering instructions when needed. Here are a few bike safety guidelines:

First and foremost, always wear a helmet! It’s a simple practice that can reduce the risk of injury including concussions. Make sure the helmet is damage-free and that it fits properly.

Wearing reflective gear or bright-colored clothing is smart for anyone riding a bicycle, including children. Bright colors help to increase visibility, especially in areas with high traffic.

Make sure the bike is correctly sized. Riding on a bike that is too big or small can make pedaling and balance difficult. This can result in falls and injuries. As the child grows, be sure to raise the seat and make other adjustments as needed.

It’s also important to maintain bikes by keeping tires inflated, oiling the chain regularly, tightening handlebars and seats as needed, and checking the brakes.

These are just a few tips that can prevent injury and save lives! If you would like your child to learn more about bicycle safety, register them for the Barton County BeWell Bike Rodeo on Saturday, July 20th. Kids ages 5-12 years can bring their bikes to the Central Baptist Church in Great Bend to practice skills and learn how to become better bicyclists. The event is from 8-9 am. Former Hays High and Tennessee Volunteer standout Dylan Dreiling
was selected in the second round of the MLB Draft Sunday by the Texas Rangers.

Dreiling was the 65th overall pick, the final
pick of the second round.

Dreiling spent much of the first day of the MLB draft with
his family and friends, watching the first round and almost the entire second
round go by before his name was called just before 10 p.m. central time.

But when his name was called, he was excited.

"It means a lot. I'm excited to go to the Rangers," Dreiling
said. "Obviously, it's a good program, and (they) won a World Series last year,
so that's pretty big. I'm excited to get down there and get to work."

Dreiling said he had been talking with representatives from the Rangers organization quite a bit over the last couple of days leading up to the
draft.

"Not really anything baseball-wise, just about the person I
am," Dreiling said. "I didn't know that they were going to pick me or that I
was even in their draft considerations, but it was cool to experience that."

This is not the first go-around for Dreiling in the draft
process. Going into his senior season at Hays High, Dreiling was among a number
of high school standouts who found themselves with a chance to be drafted
straight out of high school. 

However, Dreiling suffered a hamstring injury early in the season. Despite the injury, he was named the Kansas 5A player of the year. However, he did not hear his name called in the 2022 MLB draft, and he headed to the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.

After splitting time as a freshman for the Volunteers, Dreiling
cemented his role in the starting lineup this past season in Knoxville, finishing
with a .341 average with 23 homeruns and a team-best 75 RBIs while being named
to the first-team All-SEC.

But it was what Dreiling did on the way to the Volunteers
winning the College World Series title in Omaha that earned him the title of “Mr.
Clutch.”

In the six CWS games, Dreiling batted .541 with 11 RBIs and
three homeruns. All three of those homeruns came in the CWS finals against
Texas A&amp;M. He is the first player to ever accomplish that feat. He was
named the Most Outstanding Player of the 2024 College World Series.

Dreiling said his ascent to stardom after the injury and his freshman season showed his drive to win.

"It shows that I'm a hard worker and that I'm willing to do
whatever to get better," Dreiling said. "I'm a winner. I want to win as bad as
anybody."

For Dreiling, the last few weeks have been “crazy.”

After helping to lead the Volunteers to the program's first CWS
Championship in Omaha, he returned to Hays and said he had been overwhelmed by
the community's support.

"The support from the community was unreal since I've been
home, and it's just been really cool to see," Dreiling said.

Dreiling was honored Saturday at Larks Park during the team's matchup with the Fort Collins Foxes. A proclamation from the Hays mayor declared Sunday, July 14, Dylan Dreiling Day in the city.

two rounds of the MLB, a new program record.“It’s the best place to develop in college baseball, hands
down,” Dreiling said. “We just have so many coaches that help developmentally
and just keep you on the right path.”Dylan added, “I looked at it, the draft, as a high schooler, and going to Tennessee was the best decision I ever made.”
