NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Two decades ago at their first show together, The Black Keys played so fast they ran out of songs before their set ended. 

Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney, two college dropouts from Akron, Ohio, formed in 2002 and built slowly, but steadily off that first show, attracting critical praise and legions of fans with each record.

 On their 11th studio record, “Dropout Boogie,” the Grammy-winning rock duo admit that they weren't college material, but that may have been for the best.

With several first takes on the record and an exciting collaboration with ZZ Top frontman Billy Gibbons, The Black Keys are still playing raw, fast and loose.

BOSTON (AP) — Celebrity chef Mario Batali has been cleared of sexual misconduct following a criminal trial in Boston. 

A Boston Municipal Court judge found him not guilty Tuesday after a two-day trial in which the chef had waived his right to a jury trial. 

A woman had accused Batali of forcibly kissing and groping her while taking a selfie at a restaurant in 2017. 

But Batali’s lawyer argued the accuser had a financial incentive to lie. Batali faced up to 2 1/2 years in prison if convicted.

The 61-year-old former Food Network fixture's career crumbled amid sexual misconduct allegations from four women in 2017.

NEW YORK (AP) — Did an 80-1 longshot really win the Kentucky Derby? People apparently wanted to make sure of Rich Strike's win. 

NBC Sports says some 36 million people watched a replay of the race on one of the network's social media accounts, including a record-setting 11.6 million on TikTok. 

Live race coverage itself averaged 16 million viewers on NBC and the Peacock streaming service, with the numbers peaking at 19 million when the race was held. 

That makes the Derby NBC's most-watched program since the Super Bowl in February. Otherwise, CBS was the most popular prime-time program on television last week.

The Japanese video game maker behind the Super Mario and Pokemon franchises says sales for the fiscal year fell 3.6% as fewer Nintendo Switch machines were sold, and IP income from mobile content also declined. 

Nintendo Switch players around the world now total some 102 million people, up from 87 million people the previous fiscal year, according to Nintendo. 

Game makers have reaped windfall profits from more people staying home during the coronavirus pandemic over the last two years.

That makes the iconic portrait of actress Marilyn Monroe the most expensive work by a U.S. artist ever auctioned. 

The 1964 silkscreen image shows Monroe in vibrant close-up. Christie’s auction house in New York held the sale Monday. Christie’s said an unknown buyer made the purchase. 

When the auction was announced, they had estimated it could go for as much as $200 million.

For the full fiscal year ended in March, Sony racked up a profit of 882 billion yen, or $6.8 billion, down 14% despite the success of “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” which contributed to revenue. 

Sales in its TV division also grew from licensing income.

She was a prominent writer and commentator who in blunt and tenacious style opposed the cultural revolution of the 1960s and the rise of feminism, affirmative action and the gay rights movement. 

Like her husband, Decter was a Democrat repelled in the ’60s and after by what she called “heedless and mindless” politics of the left. Her books included “Liberal Parents, Radical Children,” “The New Chastity” and the memoir “An Old Wife’s Tale.”

The new Dylan center is opening steps away from a museum that honors Woody Guthrie, one of the Nobel laureate's musical heroes and influences. 

Dylan may not be one for looking back, but he saved enough handwritten lyrics, photos, rare recordings and other artifacts to support a facility with more than 100,000 items. 

It includes one new Dylan piece of art: a metal sculpture designed and built by the man himself.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Los Angeles County prosecutors say the man who tackled comedian Dave Chappelle during a performance at the Hollywood Bowl will not be charged with any felonies. 

The district attorney's office said Thursday that 23-year-old Isaiah Lee clearly engaged in criminal conduct, but it did not rise to the level of felony conduct. 

The case was referred to the city attorney, who prosecutes misdemeanors in Los Angeles. 

Police say Lee rushed the stage and tackled Chappelle on Tuesday night, and had a replica handgun with a blade inside.

It was not immediately known if Lee had retained a lawyer. A possible motive is unclear. Chappelle continued with his performance.

 In a statement, the president and CEO of CBS lauded Corden for taking “huge creative and comedic swings,” including with “Carpool Karaoke.” In those videos, Corden and pop stars including Adele and Paul McCartney performed sing-alongs on the road. 

Corden’s contract with “The Late Late Show” was to expire this August, but the London-born actor and writer extended the agreement for another season.

The Oktoberfest, first held in 1810 in honor of the marriage of Crown Prince Ludwig of Bavaria to Princess Therese, has been canceled dozens of times during its more than 200-year history due to wars and pandemics. 

The announcement was welcomed by the Bavarian hotel and restaurant association.

It was assumed lost for decades at Catholic University of America but was found last year in a shoebox. 

It's going to be part of Bonhams “Classic Hollywood: Film and Television” auction May 24 in Los Angeles.

 It's now on display at the auction house's New York location and has a presale estimate of $800,000 to $1.2 million. 

There was more than one made for Garland while filming. 

Only two are with the blouse she wore underneath. That includes the one found at Catholic University.

 The trio of furry monsters wear cool metal suits bursting with gizmos and soar through the air in their new CGI-animated show “Mecha Builders,” adding some science and technology lessons along with their adventures. 

The show is part of a content partnership between WarnerMedia Kids &amp; Family and Sesame Workshop.

 It is set to debut on HBO Max and Cartoon Network in early May. 

The first episode premiered Tuesday on “Sesame Street’s” YouTube channel.

 But it's apparently missing out on a solution close to home. According to a new study of TV and film scripts from 2016-20, less than 3 percent refers to climate change-related words and phrases. 

An initiative intends to help turn that around with a blueprint titled “Good Energy: A Playbook for Screenwriting in the Age of Climate Change.” 

The playbook was created with feedback from more than 100 TV and film writers. 

Among its suggestions: show solutions to climate change in the background, such as including solar panels in an exterior shot of a building.

As area residents continue to deal with the fallout of the
Dec. 15 Four County Wildfire, an unlikely source of relief is planned for
this weekend — the Funny 4 Fun(ds) comedy show fundraiser.

Hays Has Humor, hosted by Jeff Leiker, will feature area comedians
at the Hays Community Theatre, 121 E. Eighth, at 8 p.m. Saturday.

“After the tragic events that happened in our area, I was
sitting there and just kind of thinking to myself, 'God, there's got to be
something that I can do,' ” Leiker said. “I don't feel right, just going into my
job over at Mix 103 and just be like, 'Hey, it's a beautiful day here on Mix
103,' kind of thing. It just didn't feel right.”

That uncomfortable feeling turned into action as he looked
for a way to help, inspired by actions he sees every day.

“We do a lot of good things here at Eagle, where we promote different fundraising events and different charities and community events and
everything,” Leiker said. “But I wanted to get something together that could
directly benefit the people affected.”

Working with his own skills and pulling from his contacts
from Hays Has Humor, he created the upcoming show — with help from the Heartland
Community Foundation.

“All proceeds — 100 percent of the proceeds — are going to the Heartland
Community Foundation Disaster Relief Fund, funds that anyone
affected by the wildfires or the windstorms can pull from to help financially
get back on their feet.”

Leiker plans to host the event, which will feature an all-Kansan
lineup, including two from the Hays area — Tony Angular and Buzz — along with Ty
Jones from Junction City.

He is hopeful a potential fourth comedian will also be
available to perform.

Tickets are $5 and freewill donations will also be
accepted.

“Just got to show up at the door,” Leiker said. “Give them
five bucks and you're in that's really all there is to it. And everything is no-frills. If we're suddenly at capacity, I guess we'll deal with that when we get to it, but that would be a wonderful problem to have.”

And while he said he can’t promise the show will be funny,
he can guarantee it is for a good cause. 

“It's been really enriching,” Leiker said. “And obviously
the beginning of the year is pretty hectic for a lot of people weather-wise and coming back from the holidays and everything. It's good to just get out
and enjoy and have a laugh. ... But if we don't make you laugh, I'm
sorry, we can't give you a refund.”
