ELK COUNTY. — The Kansas Bureau of Investigation is assisting the Elk County Sheriff’s Office after an adult man was found dead Tuesday on Elk Valley USD 283 school property in Longton.
The sheriff’s office requested KBI assistance at about 2:30 p.m. KBI agents and its Crime Scene Response Team responded.
Investigators have not determined the manner of death. Authorities said there is no indication the incident poses a risk to students or the public.
The man’s identity will be released after his next of kin have been notified. The investigation is ongoing.
