Police update details on deadly shooting near Kan. fast-food restaurant

SHAWNEE COUNTY—Police are investigating a shooting that left two dead in Topeka. 

Just before 8:30p.m. Sunday, police responded to report of a shooting at McDonalds restaurant in the 1200 block of SW Gage Boulevard in Topeka, according to Topeka Police  LT Jayme Green.

At the scene, first responders located two victims who were deceased. EMS transported a third victim to a hospital with life-threatening injuries

On Wednesday, Topeka Police reported they are now investigating this incident as a murder-suicide. At the scene, officers located a deceased 76-year-old man who suffered an apparent gunshot wound. A 22-year-old man with life-threatening gunshot injuries was also found at the scene and was transported to a local hospital for emergency treatment.

Officers additionally discovered a man who died from what appears to have been a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Police released no additional details Wednesday afternoon.
