60-mph wind gusts cause damage across Kansas

SALINA —Strong winds pummeled the state most of Thursday. A gust of wind equal to that of an EF-0 tornado blasted Salina Thursday afternoon. The Salina Regional Airport recorded a 66 mph gust at 3:53 p.m. According to the Enhanced Fujita Scale, an EF-0 tornado has wind speeds of 65-85 mph.

Several locations in Kansas had wind gusts of 50-60 mph. The high wind warnings ended Thursday evening. There were no injuries reported.
