Police: Wanted suspect punched Kan. woman, cut her clothing

SEDGWICK COUNTY — Wichita Police detectives are seeking information regarding an incident that occurred December 14.

At approximately 4:30 a.m. December 14, a woman victim was walking in the 500 block of S. Market in Wichita when an unknown man approached her and asked for a cigarette, according to Officer Juan Rebolledo.

When the victim replied that she did not have one, the suspect assaulted her by punching, strangling, and cutting her clothing. The victim sustained minor injuries during the incident.

The suspect is described as a Black male in his mid-30s, approximately 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighing around 210 pounds, with a clean-shaven appearance. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a black beanie with snowflake designs, a brown jacket, a black and grey hoodie, and blue jeans. He may have been riding a grey bicycle.

Detectives are actively investigating this case and are looking for any information that could help identify the suspect or locate additional witnesses.
