Homicide victim found in KC church parking lot identified as 16-year-old

KANSAS CITY —Police investigating a Monday homicide in Kansas City are have identified the victim as 16-year-old Tytus Bridgeford.

Just before 9:30a.m. Monday, police were dispatched to report of a dead body in church parking lot of Dayspring Pentecostal Church at Bannister and Raytown Road, according to Sheriff Daryl Forte'.

First responders found Bridgeford suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.  He was pronounced dead at the scene. A passerby saw the victim in the parking lot and called police. 

On Wednesday  police asked for help to identify the victim who was described as a juvenile black male with braces and black rubber bands. He has a natural hairstyle that is 1-inch long and tapered at the sides, according to police. He also has a scar above his left eye, a vertical scar in the center of the back of his left hand and a circular scar on his left hip. 

When he was found, the Bridgeford was wearing 'bone colored' Adidas Yeezy 700 MNVN shoes.
