Sheriff IDs Kansas woman who died in crash on Halloween

SEDGWICK COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities investigating a fatal Halloween crash have identified the victim as 38-year-old Clenea Meairs of Wichita, according Sheriff's Lt. Benjamin Blick.

Just after 6p.m. Sunday, a Dodge truck was southbound Seneca at 63rd Street South in south Wichita.

As the the truck traveled though the intersection with a green light, an eastbound Chrysler Concorde driven by Meairs  entered the intersection.  The truck struck the driver's side door of the Concorde.

EMS transported Meairs to a local hospital where she later died. Two juvenile females, 16 and 8, in the Chrysler had minor injuries and were released to a family member at the scene.

A 17-year-old male passenger in the Chrysler was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The operator of the Dodge truck, a 25-year-old man from Newkirk, Oklahoma was uninjured.

Blick released no additional details Monday afternoon.
