SHAWNEE COUNTY—Law enforcement have identified the driver who died in an accident Wednesday afternoon in Shawnee County.
According Deputy Abigail Christian, Van E. Hawkins, 87, of Silver Lake, was the driver in the single vehicle accident that occurred near NW 21st Street and NW Perry Road in Silver Lake.
The sheriff's office released no additional details. The accident remains under investigation, according to Deputy Christian.
