KANSAS CITY —Law enforcement are investigating another homicide in Kansas City, Missouri.
Just after 11a.m. Thursday, police were dispatched to report of an injury accident at 48th Terrace and Vermont Avenue, according to KCPD Captain Jake Becchina. While en route officers were advised the call was a possible shooting call.
First responders located an electric motorbike at the scene abandoned, as well as indications of a shooting crime scene. Officers were told that the victim had been transported to the hospital by KCFD EMS prior to their arrival.
Additional officers responded to the hospital and made contact with medical personnel who were treating the victim. Emergency medical personnel advised the victim had been shot and was in critical condition with life-threatening injuries.
Preliminary investigation indicates the victim was shot at the location where the electric bike was located in the intersection. Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators responded to the scene and canvassed for witnesses and processed the scene for available evidence. Late Thursday, detectives were notified from the hospital that the victim died from his injuries. This is now a homicide investigation and homicide detectives have taken over the investigation
which remains ongoing tonight.
