FRANKLIN COUNTY —One person died in an accident just before 6:30p.m. Tuesday in Franklin County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2020 Toyota RAV 4 driven by Troy Evan Prosser, 46, Lawrence, was northbound on U.S. 59 just south of 1st Road at the Douglas/ Franklin County line. The SUV struck a pedestrian identified as Ahmad Shameek Welsch, 26, who was involved in a separate crash at that location.
Welsch was pronounced dead at the scene. Prosser was properly restrained and not injured, according to the KHP.
