SEDGWICK COUNTY –Law enforcement are investigating a fatal gunfight and have made an arrest.

Just after 2p.m. Monday, officers were called to a liquor store on North Broadway in Wichita, according to a media release. First responders found three men with gunshot wounds including 19-year-old Mario Gustavo. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The suspect and another man were taken to a hospital in critical condition.

Investigators learned that a disturbance in the parking lot led to gunfire.

A retired Wichita police lieutenant saw a vehicle flee the scene and followed it. Officers stopped the car, driven by a woman, near the 800 block of North Main Street. A male passenger, identified as an associate of Gustavo, had a gunshot wound to the hand and was taken to a hospital in critical but stable condition. Investigators believe he was shot at the exact location as the other three men.

Detectives continue to investigate the sequence of events and the individuals involved.
