KANSAS CITY —Authorities are investigating the cause of a fire in Kansas City.

Just before 5p.m. Sunday, Kansas City Fire companies were dispatched to a reported building fire in the 1200 block of Crystal Avenue, according to Battalion Chief Riley Nolan.

The first arriving company reported "heavy smoke and fire" from a large 1-story warehouse. Companies forced entry into the warehouse, finding the seat of the fire, and initiated an offensive fire attack with two hose lines.

The fire was placed under control at 5:14 p.m.  Railroad tracks on the east side of the building were shut down for approximately 30 minutes while crews battled the fire. There were no injuries reported.

City Planning and Dangerous Buildings were requested to the scene.
