KCPD: Man shot and killed in business parking lot

KANSAS CITY —Law enforcement authorities investigating another homicide in Kansas City, Missouri have identified the victim as 36-year-old Eric White.

Just before 3p.m. Friday, officers were dispatched to a shooting on the northeast corner of 39th and Broadway, in business parking lot, according to KCPD Captain Jake Becchina.

First responders were directed to the east side of the parking lot on the northeast corner of 39th and Broadway where they located an adult male shooting victim, later identified as Eric White, unresponsive there. 

Officers called for EMS who responded and transported White to the hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries. People in the area when officers arrived indicated they heard sound of gunshots to the east and then saw White walk to the parking lot and collapse where he was located by officers.

 There is no indication as of yet what led up to the shooting. If anyone was in this area and heard or saw anything or has any information, and has not yet talked to police, they are asked to contact Homicide detectives directly at 816-234-5043 or the TIPS Hotline anonymously at 816-474-TIPS. There is a reward of up to $25,000 for information submitted anonymously to the TIPS hotline.
