KANSAS CITY—Officials are investigating the cause of an apartment build fire in Kansas City.
Just after 7p..m. Friday, crews responded to a fire at a two-story apartment building in the 3200 block of Gillham, according to Battalion Chief Michael Hopkins.
Crews reported smoke and fire from the building on arrival. Interior operations were initiated. One occupant was in the process of being removed by bystanders on arrival. KC fire department crews took over and pulled the individual from the building. The occupant was transported to a local hospital for smoke inhalation and evaluation.
Additional searches of the structure came back all clear.. The building has significant damage to the attic and roof. No firefighters were injured..
