
TOPEKA —Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff stopped in Kansas Monday to promote COVID vaccinations. He and Education Secretary Miguel Cardona joined Kansas Governor Laura Kelly and toured a vaccination clinic at Topeka High School.
They discussed how to can keep communities safe as students return to the classroom.
"The vaccine is our best tool to beat this virus," said Kelly. "If you haven't yet, get vaccinated at a site near you today"
In addition, as part of her efforts to raise awareness of the importance of getting vaccinated against all vaccine-preventable diseases, Governor Laura Kelly proclaimed August as Immunization Awareness Month in Kansas.
