Police update details on 5 found dead at 3 crime scenes in Wichita

SEDGWICK COUNTY —Law enforcement continue investigating after five shooting victims were found at three homes in Wichita.

Just before 6p.m. Sunday, police responded to a death investigation at a residence in the 1700 block of Sante Fe in Wichita, according to Police Spokesman Andrew Ford. First responders found a male victim deceased from an apparent gunshot wound.

Shortly after, officers conducted a follow-up at another residence in the 1900 block of S. Laura, where they discovered three additional victims with apparent gunshot wounds.

During a canvass of the neighborhood on Laura, an officer checked another residence by looking through a window and discovered what appeared to be another victim in the living room. Officers forced entry and found a man deceased from an apparent gunshot wound. On Monday afternoon, police reported the victims include, 67-year man, 68-year-old man a 55-year-old man, a 39-year-old man and a 42-year old man. They were all from Wichita. Police have not released their names.

At this time, we believe all victims are known to each other, and there is no outstanding suspect or ongoing threat to the community. Police suspect that one of the victims may be the possible shooter.
