
KANSAS CITY—One person died in a house fire New Year's Day in Kansas City, Missouri.
Just before 7:30a.m. Thursday, crews responded to a reported house fire in the 3200 block of E 52nd Street, according to Battalion Chief Riley Nolan.

On arrival crews reported fire from the 2nd story of a 2-story home. Interior operations were initiated along with a search, and a victim, later confirmed as a 90-year-old man was found inside the structure.
KCPD Bomb and Arson responded to the scene and conducted an investigation due to the fatality and as a part of standard procedure. No other injuries were reported at this incident. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
