KANSAS CITY—Law enforcement are investigating a suspect on multiple allegations after a chase in a Kansas City suburb.
Just after 8:30 a.m. Thursday, Deputies positively identified the vehicle of a shooting suspect from Odessa that had been flagged by a Flock camera, according to a media release from the Cass County, Missouri Sheriff.

A deputy tried to stop the vehicle in Peculiar, however, the suspect rammed into the deputy’s vehicle and continued northbound on Interstate 49.
The pursuit continued until the suspect, identified as 36-year-old Brendan Freed of Bates City, crashed in the area of SW Peterson Road and E 137th Street in Lee’s Summit. Freed was taken into custody after a short foot chase.
Missouri State Highway Patrol assisted deputies in this pursuit. At the time of his arrest, Freed had a felony warrant for possession of a weapon in Lafayette County. A rifle was recovered from the vehicle on scene.
No members of law enforcement were injured during this incident and the deputy’s vehicle took minor damage.
Freed is in custody and will be held at the Cass County Jail with charges pending.
