Sheriff: Couple captured after alleged Kan. home burglary

JACKSON COUNTY, Kan. (JASO) –Law enforcement authorities are investigating two suspects from Missouri on multiple allegations.

Just after 4:30p.m. June 2, a Kansas Highway Patrol Trooper stopped a vehicle after it had left a residence near 182nd and U.S. Highway 75, according to Sheriff Tim Morse.

The two occupants of the vehicle had outstanding warrants. Shortly thereafter, the homeowner of the residence where the vehicle had left, arrived home.

The homeowner discovered that the house had been burglarized.  Items believed to have been taken from the residence were allegedly found inside the vehicle. Jackson County Sheriff deputies conducted a burglary investigation.

The two occupants of the vehicle were identified as Donald Lee Biggs III, 37, and  Sheila Marie Harrison, 37, both of Independence, Missouri.

Biggs had outstanding warrants out of Leavenworth County, Johnson County, Ray County, Missouri, and Platte County Missouri for burglaries, thefts, illegal drugs, and identity theft

Harrison had an outstanding warrant out of Lafayette County, Missouri for receiving stolen property.

Jackson County Deputies arrested Biggs on requested charges of burglary, felony possession of stolen property, felony theft and criminal trespass.  Deputies arrested Harrison on requested charges of burglary, possession of stolen property and theft, according to Morse.
