KANSAS CITY —A Kansas City man has been charged in the fatal card game shooting James P. Robertson, according to Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker.
Jordan Huff, 23, faces Murder 2nd Degree and Armed Criminal Action charges.
According to court records, police were dispatched to the 3900 block of S. Redwood Drive in Independence on a reported shooting. A woman met officers and told them a man had been shot in the residence. Three children were inside but unharmed. Emergency response crews determined the victim, Robertson, was deceased. He was found inside the residence. A witness told police that the defendant and victim were playing cards with others when the defendant shot the victim.
Another witness stated the defendant stopped others from calling 911. A Ring doorbell camera showed the defendant leaving the apartment and a gun barrel muzzle is evident. . Prosecutors requested a $250,000 cash bond.
