Suspect charged in road-rage killing of 23-year-old Kan. man

KANSAS CITY —Jackson County Prosecutors filed charges late Friday in the fatal shooting of Riley Youngblood, 23, who was found wounded in his vehicle in Independence, according to Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker.

Joshua A. Mongold, is charged with Murder 2nd Degree, Unlawful Use of a Weapon and two counts of Armed Criminal Action.

He remains jailed on $500,000 bond.

Youngblook was shot just after 8a.m. Jan. 20, at U.S. 40 Highway and Valley View road, according to Independence Police. Investigators asked the public for help to locate a dark grey Chevy pickup seen on security cameras near the victim's vehicle.
