Sheriff: Kan. burglary suspect was wearing a Halloween costume

JACKSON COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a burglary and have made an arrest.

Shortly after 12:30 a.m. Sunday, law enforcement was notified of an intruder inside a residence at 217 W. 4th Street in Holton, according to Sheriff Tim Morse.

Holton Police and Jackson County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the address and found signs of forced entry to the residence and a man on the floor being held at gunpoint by the owner of the property.

The suspect identified as 27-year-old Dylan Lynard Thomas of Holton was dressed in a Halloween type costume, according to Morse.

Deputies arrested him and  booked him into the Jackson County Jail on a requested charge of attempted aggravated burglary, criminal damage to property and criminal trespass, according to Morse.
