HARVEY COUNTY —A Kansas man died in an accident just after 7a.m. Wednesday in Harvey County.
According to the city of Newton, Peter Hartman, 90, of Hesston, was driving a passenger vehicle southeast on Hesston Road northwest of North Newton. The vehicle collided with a semi-trailer that was attempting to make a right turn from Hesston Road onto 36th Street.
EMS transported Hartman in critical condition to a Wichita hospital. He later died of his injuries.
There were no passengers in either vehicle. The accident remains under investigation.
