
SHAWNEE COUNTY —Police investigating gunfire in Topeka have made an arrest.
Just before 6 p.m., Monday, police responded to the area of SW Huntoon and Lincoln in Topeka on the report of gunshots being fired in the area, according to Police Lt. John Trimble.
Officers arrived to the area shortly after being dispatched. They located multiple witnesses and victims and took a subject into custody identified as 23-year-old Rajhgerio Guruda Smith.
He was booked into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections on requested charges of Attempted 2nd Degree Murder, Aggravated Assault, Criminal Discharge of Firearm at Occupied Vehicle, felon in Possession of Firearm, Felony Criminal Damage and Misdemeanor Criminal Damage.
