MANHATTAN — Law enforcement authorities are investigating a violent attack and have made an arrest.
Just before 4 p.m. Saturday, officers filed a report for aggravated battery in the 1000 block of Leavenworth Street in Manhattan, according to the Riley County Police Department activity report.
Officers listed a 21-year-old man as the victim when it was reported a 19-year-old male hit him with a hammer.
EMS transported the victim to KU Medical Center where he was treated and released, according to police spokesperson Rachel Pate.
Officers arrested Miguel Gerber, 19, Manhattan, on requested charges of battery. Gerber remains in custody on a bond of $5,000, according to online jail records.
