Saline Co. animal shelter managers face animal cruelty charges

After the law enforcement investigation of the Salina Animal Shelter was turned over to the Saline County Attorney's office, charges have  been filed against the managers of the shelter.

According to Saline County Attorney John Reynolds, he filed charges against Salina Animal Shelter managers, Monique Hawley and Andrea Murphy on Wednesday.

Reynolds told Salina Post Wednesday afternoon, he filed 3 requested charges of Animal Cruelty on Hawley and Murphy, for the reported euthanasia procedures done on three puppies with parvovirus back on December 2025.

Furthermore, Reynolds said he is requiring both of them to appear in court on Friday. If they don't appear, then a warrant will be issued for their arrest.
