KANSAS CITY—A child died in an accident just before 7:30a.m. Tuesday in Kansas City, Missouri.
KCPD investigators determined white Ford Transit van was northbound on Food Lane Drive and was turning westbound onto Longview Road at the intersection, according KCPD Sergeant Jake Becchina. At the same time, a girl was riding her bicycle within the marked crosswalk and had a green signal.
The van struck the bicyclist, causing her to fall to the roadway.. EMS transported the girl to a local hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased by medical staff.
