JOHNSON COUNTY—Law enforcement are investigating an officer involved shooting in Johnson County.
Around 5:05 a.m., officers responded to a report of gunfire near 67th and Lackman in the city of Shawnee, according to a media release.
No one was injured in the original call. When officers arrived to investigate and attempted to take a suspect into custody, the suspect fired several shots. An officer returned fire. No one was hurt, and the suspect was taken into custody.
As part of standard procedure, the Johnson County Officer-Involved Critical Incident Investigative Team is investigating. Police did release the name of the suspect
