Kansas man accused of murder faces a judge

SEDGWICK COUNTY — A suspect involved in a deadly weekend shooting in Wichita made his first court appearance in the case Wednesday.

Michael Dixon, 26, was charged with Murder In The Second Degree and Criminal Discharge of a Firearm, according to the Sedgwick County District Attorney's office.

Just before 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, police responded to a report of a disturbance involving gunshot in the 4100 Block of West Pine in Wichita, according to Police spokesman Andrew Ford. Upon arrival, officers discovered that a male victim had been shot and was transported to a local hospital by private vehicle.

The victim was identified as Sauhni Stallings, 23, of Wichita. Despite efforts to save him, he was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Following the investigation, officers arrested  Dixon who remains in custody on a $150,000.00 bond.
