KCPD: Pedestrian injured after struck by vehicle has died

KANSAS CITY— A pedestrian injured in a weekend incident has died.

Just after 10:30.m.  April 6, Kansas City East Patrol Officers were dispatched to a three-vehicle collision and pedestrian hit at East 41st Street and Prospect Avenue in Kansas City, according to Captain Jake Becchina.

A pedestrian had just parked his Buick and exited his vehicle. A southbound Chevrolet on Prospect struck the pedestrian and his parked Buick.

The Chevrolet then struck a stopped Nissan when it appeared the driver was trying to leave the scene. The pedestrian was transported to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the Chevrolet was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Nissan reported minor injuries in the collision but refused medical treatment.  Police have not released the name of the victim or additional details.
