
MARION COUNTY— The community and his co-workers are mourning the death of Marion County Sheriff Robert Craft.
He died Wednesday, according to a social media report from the Marion County Emergency Communications.
The Kansas Highway Patrol and members of the sheriff's office escorted the late retired KHP and current Marion County Sheriff back to Marion just after 11:30p.m. Wednesday.
They asked the public to show respect for him and support to Jan and Shaun along with the rest of his family and all gathered on east Main Street to bring Craft home
Funeral arrangements are pending and that Craft’s family and the sheriff’s office “greatly appreciate all the prayers and positive thoughts, according to Undersheriff Larry Starkey.
The Emergency Communications staff wrote, “Our hearts are breaking. But we will hold strong for you. Rest easy, sir, we have the watch from here.”
