COWLEY COUNTY —Law enforcement are investigating a fatal pedestrian accident in Cowley County.
Just before 7:30p.m. Saturday, the Cowley County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to an injury accident involving a vehicle versus a pedestrian on US 77 Highway at 242nd Road, according to Undersheriff Christina McDonald.
Deputies determined that a silver Nissan Rogue traveling northbound on US 77 had struck a pedestrian who was walking in the roadway. The pedestrian sustained critical injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. The sheriff's office did not release the name of the victim.
