Sheriff: Investigators found cocaine in Kansas motel room

JACKSON COUNTY–Law enforcement authorities are investigating a Kansas woman on multiple drug charges following an investigation.

Just after 10:30a.m. Saturday, a Sheriff’s Deputy stopped a 2020 Hyundai Elantra for allegedly failing to display a license plate on the vehicle, according to Sheriff Tim Morse.

During the traffic stop, the deputy found hallucinogenic drugs in the vehicle. A subsequent search was conducted by deputies of a room at the Red Roof Inn located in Holton where the driver was believed to be staying.

A substance believed to be cocaine was seized with drug paraphernalia.

The driver, 29-year-old Jeanata Larae Valentine of Holton was arrested and transported to the Jackson County Jail and booked on requested charges that include possession of cocaine, possession of a hallucinogenic drug, possession of drug paraphernalia and trafficking contraband into a correctional facility.
