
SEDGWICK COUNTY—A suspect wanted in connection with an August 2025 shooting in Wichita, is finally in custody.

On August 31, deputies is Maverick County Texas arrested 16-year-old Cesar Govea of Wichita on felony warrants from Wichita, according to Wichita police.
Govea was wanted in connection with a shooting on August 24, 2025 that injured his 16-year-old ex-girlfriend and a 17-year-old boy. The victims were inside a vehicle near Wichita and Waterwalk when Govea opened fire.
The warrants for the Govea's arrest include charges of two counts of attempted murder, criminal discharge of a weapon, aggravated battery, and criminal threat.
