CLAY COUNTY —Two people were injured in an accident during a police chase just after 1:30p.m. Tuesday in Clay County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2008 Jeep Liberty driven by Joshua McCulloch, 17, Junction City, was northbound on Granite Road just south of 4th Road in Clay Count, fleeing law enforcement.

The driver lost control of the vehicle. The Jeep traveled off the right of the roadway and the driver overcorrected. The vehicle veered to the left and crossed the roadway and traveled into a field on the west side of the road. The Jeep then turned sideways, facing east, and began to roll and the driver was ejected.

EMS transported McCullough and a passenger Qwa'Driques Dotson, 21, Salina, to Salina Regional Health Center. They were not wearing seat belts, according to the KHP.  Authorities have not reported what prompted the chase.
