Suspect in shooting outside Kansas bar turns herself in

TOPEKA—Law enforcement authorities investigating a weekend shooting have arrested 35-year-old Misty Lake after she turned herself in on Monday.

Just before 9p.m. Saturday, police responded to a report of a possible shooting in the parking lot of Skinny’s Bar, 4016 SW Huntoon Street in Topeka, according to Lt. Shane Hilton. One victim transported themselves to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. When officers arrived, they learned that an altercation inside of the bar spilled out into the parking lot where the shooting occurred.

The Topeka Police Department the public for assistance in locating  Lake in connection with the incident. After turning herself in, she was booked on a requested charge of aggravated battery, according to police spokesperson Gretchen Spiker.

The Topeka Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating Misty M. Lake, 35, of Topeka, in connection with the incident. Anyone with information about Lake’s location, including past sightings is asked to call police.
