RILEY COUNTY – On Wednesday, the Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) and the Riley County Police Department arrested a Topeka man who arranged to meet minors for sexual acts, according to a media release from the KBI.
On Oct. 7, at around 9:30 a.m., KBI agents conducted a search warrant at 2250 SW Ancaster Road, in Topeka. Mark W. Reutzel, 61, was arrested at around 10:50 a.m., on requeste charges of electronic solicitation for enticing a person whom he believed was a child to engage in unlawful sexual acts.
This arrest was related to a joint law enforcement operation that took place in September, in Riley and Geary counties, targeting offenders buying sexual relations. Following his arrest, deputies from the Riley County Police Department transported Reutzel to the Riley County Jail where he was booked on the requested charges.
