Kan. school police officer finds burglary suspect hiding in backyard

SHAWNEE COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities  investigating a burglary and have made an arrest.

Just after 9a.m. Thursday, deputies responded to an alarm at a business in the 5200 block of SE 29th Street, according to Deputy Abigail Christian. 

A deputy located an individual nearby that matched the description of the suspect. While deputies were making contact with the suspect later identified as Angelo D. Aldridge, 34, of Topeka  he fled on foot.

He was later located by on officer with Topeka Public Schools Police hiding in the backyard of a residence in the 3900 block of SE Skylark Court and placed him into custody.

Deputies booked Aldridge into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections on a felony warrant out of Shawnee County as well as requested charges of burglary, theft, criminal trespass, interference with law enforcement and possession of drug paraphernalia.
