
SEDGWICK COUNTY— A Kansas mom convicted on charges connected with a crash that left another woman severely injured is going to prison.
On April 3, a judge sentenced 28-year-old Alexandria Rodriquez to 38 months in prison for a DUI crash into a woman who was in a crosswalk., according to the Sedgwick County District Attorney's office.
She must also pay $17,000 in restitution to the woman injured in the crash.
Just after 6p.m. December 2, 2024, police responded to report of an injury accident at the intersection of Lincoln and Rock Road in Wichita, according to police.
Investigators determined a vehicle driven by Rodriguez was northbound on Rock Road and struck a pedestrian walking east to west in the crosswalk. Police took Rodriguez into custody. EMS transported the female pedestrian to a local hospital for treatment of critical injuries. Rodriguez had three children in the vehicle at the time of the crash.
