Police: Kan. man accused of murder for fatal house fire

BUTLER COUNTY—Authorities investigating a fatal house fire in Butler County have made an arrest.

Late Friday, the El Dorado Police and Fire Departments responded to the fire at a home in the 300 block of N Taylor in El Dorado, according to a media release.

First responders learned there was an individual inside of the home. Emergency personnel were able to retrieve this individual from the home and administered life saving measures.

Unfortunately, the individual did succumb to their injuries and was pronounced deceased. On Monday, 46-year-old David J. Poulter from El Dorado,  was charged with 1st degree murder, aggravated arson and assault on a law enforcement officer in connection with the fire.

 Authorities have not released the victim's name or additional details.
