SEDGWICK COUNTY —A man accused of murder in a deadly crash was back in court on Friday.
Tony Epps, 30, attended a hearing in the courtroom of Judge Christopher Magana and pleaded guilty to second-degree murder, according to the Sedgwick County District Attorney's office.
In March of 2025, Epps was a driver involved in a two-vehicle crash that occurred near the intersection of Maple and Osage, according to Wichita Police Officer Kris Gupilan.
First responders arrived at the crash scene and began rendering life saving measures to a 72-year-old man, later identified as Rockney G. Lindemann. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. EMS transported Epps to an area hospital with serious injuries.
Just after he was booked into jail in June of 2025, Epps met the requirement for bond and is no longer in custody, according to online jail records.
Epps is scheduled for sentencing on November 23, according to the district attorney's office.
