
ALLEN COUNTY—A child died after a reported electrical shock while playing at a home in Allen County.
Just after 9:30p.m. Thursday, the Allen County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a 4-year-old child not breathing, according to a media release.
The Allen County Communications Center received the 911 call and learned that the parents, with the unconscious child, were driving to Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center in Chanute. The child was later pronounced deceased.
It was reported that the child had been playing in a residence in the 200 block of North Walnut in Savonburg, and allegedly received an electrical shock from a 220v dryer.
The Allen County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident. No foul play is suspected at this time, and it appears to have been a tragic accident.
