Kansas woman dies after crash with a semi

CLAY COUNTY—A Kansas woman died in an accident just before 9a.m. Wednesday in Clay County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2002 Ford Mustang driven by Kimberly S. Hinkle, 49, Salina, was westbound on U.S. Highway 24 seven miles west of Clay Center.

The Mustang collided  with an eastbound 2022 Frieghtliner semi driven by Jesse R. Ikobe, 23, Independence, Missouri, in the eastbound lanes.

Hinkle was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home.

Ikobe and a passenger were not transported for treatment. All three were properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the KHP.
