KANSAS CITY (AP) — A man was shot to death early Monday in Kansas City's Ivanhoe Northeast neighborhood, police said.
Officers responded to the area following a report around 2 a.m. Monday of shots fired, police said in a news release. Arriving officers found a man in a vacant lot suffering from gunshot wounds. Police said the man was taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The victim's name had not been released by midmorning Monday.
The death marked the city’s 63rd homicide of the year, compared with 76 homicides by May 31, 2020, according to data kept by the Kansas City Star.
