FINNEY COUNTY—One person died in an accident just after 4a.m. Friday in Finney County.
According to Garden City police, a vehicle driven by 24-year-old Jaeden Nelson struck a power line post in the 3700 block of E. Mary Street in northeast Garden City.
Nelson was pronounced dead at the scene. Firefighter safely extricated the children from the car, and both were transported to the hospital for treatment. One child was later taken to a Wichita hospital due to the extent of their injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation. The Finney County Sheriff's office, Garden City Fire Department and Finney County EMS assisted police at the scene.
